Hôtel Ivoire

By far, the top of the main tower dominates the sky upscale of Cocody. Below, the waters of the Ebrié lagoon make you feel in harmony with the nature; welcome to the Hotel Ivoire Sofitel, the flagship hotel in Cote d'Ivoire. At the outset, the site was a coffee and cocoa plantation. Designed by architect Moshe Mayer, completed in 1969 and renovated in 2011, it has 209 rooms including 41 suites.

Only about 500m from the FHB international airport, the Onomo hotel is one of Abidjan's newest and obviously a handy stop for those just in tranit or who don't want to carry their suitcases very far. There are 118 air-conditioned rooms and 2 conference rooms. The overall feel of the hotel is classy and boutique, though proximity to the airport comes at the cost of being close to much else in Abidjan, though there are big plans to develop this area in the coming years.

Grand Hôtel

One of the oldest hotels in the city, the Grand Hotel may no longer be the most exclusive address, and the road network has now left it in a slightly forgotten part of the Plateau commercial district. But this is a good budget option in the heart of the city. The area gets very quiet in the evenings and at weekends and at these times there's not much in easy reach by foot.

Ibis Plateau

Not to be confused with the other Ibis in town, the Ibis Plateau offers a middle-of-the-road hotel experience, with a central position in the Plateau business district. It's well situated for government meetings in the ministerial towers. The area gets quiet at weekends and evenings, so it's best to get in a taxi if you want to find restaurants and nightlife

One of the newest business hotels in the city, the Ivotel has a central location in Plateau. It's closer to shops and restaurants than many of the other business hotels, though Plateau still gets quiet outside of office hours.

A popular choice with business travellers, the Novotel is well located in the Plateau districts with close connections to the port, government buildings and company offices. Many of the rooms overlook a stretch of the lagoon and there tends to be a steady stream of businessmen and travellers staying here. The restaurant offers poor value for money, so if you have time, it's best heading out to places like Zone 4 or Cocody.
